GUÐRÚN A.  TRYGGVADÓTTIR

Guðrún Arndís Tryggvadóttir studied art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts 1974-1978, the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris 1978-1979 and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich 1979-1983. She has held numerous exhibitions, here in Iceland, in Europe and in the United States and received numerous awards, both for her art and for her work in the field of innovation.

Guðrún makes large oil paintings as well as smaller works in watercolour. Her paintings are based on ideological concepts and are often very personal and related to time and matter. Guðrún also runs the educational and publishing company Listrými/Artspace and operates her studio in Selfoss. Works by Guðrún can be found in public museums both in Iceland and abroad.
