Ceramic Artist

 

 

Hafdís Brandsdóttir is an Icelandic artist, who has studied both in Iceland and Scotland. Finishing with BA (Hons) in Ceramic design from Glasgow School of Art 2006. Teaching and working in both countries for over thirty years. Hafdís has held private shows and taken part in many shows in Iceland and Scotland.

 

Hafdís is inspired by the fissures and crevices in the glacial and mountain landscapes as well as the unique and whimsical nature of man and beast. After going to Eyjafjallajökul after the volcano in 2010 she started making crackle clay work to get the feeling for the glacier.
