Halldóra lives and works in Hákot in Þykkvabær, where she grows potatoes and breeds horses. She owns and runs Gallery Smákot which she has operated for 21 years. She draws her inspiration from the Icelandic nature.

Halldóra is a member of the Association of Icelandic Ceramic Artists and SÍM, The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists.
